Dr. Alicia Castagno
DVM
Dr. Alicia Castagno joined our team in September 2025, after more than a decade of working with pets. She has been an animal lover her entire life. From a young age, Dr. Castagno wanted to one day become a veterinarian, but pet allergies kept her from following that dream. After pursuing other careers, she realized that Veterinary Medicine is where she belongs. In 2021, Dr. Castagno made her childhood dream come true by graduating from Washington State University as a DVM.
“I want to help as many living beings as I possibly can in my lifetime,” Dr. Castagno shared. “Vet Med allows me to uplift my colleagues, clients, and their pets, all in one profession.”
With a passion for problem-solving and building connections, Dr. Castagno brings her all into our practice every day. She is committed to providing both gold standard and option-based care to respect the needs of a diverse population of pet owners. Efficient and collaborative, she is empathetic to both pets and their owners, and believes in honest, open communication with clients. She remains curious and flexible to pet owners’ perspectives and advocates for Fear Free medicine. Dr. Castagno feels privileged to work with a team of kind, honest, and community-centered people who are equally passionate about providing exceptional care to the cats and dogs of Lynnwood.
Volunteer Work
Dr. Castagno began volunteering with animals in 2013 at PAWS Wildlife. Since then, she has volunteered to help animals with Doney Coe Pet Clinic, Rural Area Veterinary Services (RAVS), and WSU CVM Pet Loss Hotline (the latter of which was, sadly, discontinued in July 2019). She is passionate about helping as many humans and animals as possible.
Home Life
When she’s not working, Dr. Castagno enjoys traveling, gardening, camping, cooking, and reading. She has many hobbies she aspires to someday master, including but not limited to: martial arts, kayaking, drawing, writing, and roller skating. She lives with her lab mix, Sula, who enjoys stealing socks, bird watching, hiding in plain sight on black furniture, and unsolicited clothing alterations.
